Excellent point. It’s important to choose a deck sealer or water repellent deck stain that penetrates and is absorbed into the wood deck surface. A good lumber deck sealer will have UV protection and be mold and mildew resistant. In addition, be sure to choose a sealer that will not be affected if it rains shortly after application.
